Fifth AMendment

What does the fifth amendment do?

 

Gives people freedom of:

 

  • Due process ( certain processes) 

  • The government has to pay you to take your property. 

  • A person can not be tried twice for the same crime.

  • A person does not have to turn themselves in for a crime. 

  • A person must be told what rights they have. (Miranda Rights)

Real life example

 

If I were to rob a bank and then go to court for it, and i was found inncoent but then more evidence is found. Then I can't go back to court over the same case that i was already found inncoent for.
